IT IS A WONDERFUL LIFE

Not going to go on forever here. But hey, it is Christmas Eve, and an emotional cuss like me is sure to wax that way on a day like this.

Just have to say that as we look at all that is worrisome about our world – an economy in crisis, two wars we are sending our troops into every day, continuing racism and terrorism worldwide, alienation of those most in need – we all have so much to be thankful for this holiday.

Just look around tonight as you sit and wait for Santa to arrive. Those people you are with, whether it’s one, two or ten –  as well as those not with you but who are in your heart – they are what makes life worth living.  As human beings we tend to dwell on what’s wrong with our world, instead of what’s right. But if you just take the time, especially as we head into a new year, there is so much to be thankful for, if you just take the time to find it.

If you are down, remember, hope is always just around the corner. If you believe like I do that our new President will if nothing else restore our standing in the world as a nation of compassionate people, that’s one little bit of hope to hang on to. If you believe that love can conquer all, then there’s another. If you believe hard work and perseverance will keep you ahead of the game, there’s one more. And if you can look at your children and realize that yes, you have actually created miracles, well, there’s a really good thing to keep you buoyed when the chips are down.

So take what’s good in your life, and I bet there’s plenty, and let that carry you forward. It works. Happy holidays. All in all, it is truly a wonderful life.
